This section of the knowledge base provides an introduction to the most commonly used reference or citation styles used in tertiary education in New Zealand. Please note that if you are uncertain about how to apply a reference style to a particular situation you should refer to your teacher, lecturer, or a librarian at your institution.
Note also somewhere that individual institutions or departments may impose additional criteria beyond those given here, such as in format or page layout. Please be aware that these overviews do not cover every type of source material.
